This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Money Mitra collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to:

  • our website at moneymitra.com and related subdomains;
  • our iOS app (App Store ID 6446030380) and Android app (com.ideapreneurnepal.moneymitra); and
  • any access to Money Mitra through a connected AI assistant (for example, ChatGPT, Claude) using the Money Mitra connector. See Section 3.

By using Money Mitra, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.


1. Information We Collect

a. Identity and contact data

Your name, email address, and phone number, provided when you register or contact us.

b. Account and access data

Your login credentials (stored in hashed form), subscription tier and status (for example, free or Shark/Signal), access entitlements, and subscription expiry date.

c. Portfolio and financial data you provide

Information you enter or sync to manage your investments, including shareholder/account identifiers, stock holdings (symbol, quantity, weighted average cost, last traded price), buy and sell transactions, realized and unrealized profit and loss, dividend records, watchlists, and price/event alerts.

d. Usage and device data

How you interact with the service (features used, pages or screens viewed), and technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and log/diagnostic data.

e. Payment data

When you subscribe to a paid membership, payment is processed by our payment provider,— e.g., eSewa / Khalti / Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and your subscription status; we do not store full card or wallet credentials. 

We do not intentionally collect special-category data (such as health, religion, or biometric data), and ask that you do not submit it.


2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data above to:

  • create and authenticate your account and manage your subscription;
  • provide core features — portfolio valuation, holdings and P&L calculation, watchlists, buy/sell signals, technical analysis, broker comparison, and book-closure/dividend/IPO calendar reminders;
  • respond to your requests and provide customer support;
  • fulfill requests you make through a connected AI assistant (Section 3);
  • maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug problems;
  • send you service and administrative messages, and — only with your consent or where permitted — promotional messages you can opt out of at any time; and
  • comply with applicable law in Nepal.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.


3. Data Accessed Through Connected AI Assistants (MCP / App Connector)

Money Mitra can be connected to third-party AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, operated by OpenAI) through our connector. This connection is optional and only operates when you enable it.

When you send a request through a connected assistant, that assistant transmits your instruction to Money Mitra, and Money Mitra returns only the data needed to answer your request. Depending on what you ask, the data returned to the assistant may include:

  • your subscription tier and access status;
  • portfolio and holdings data (symbols, quantities, cost, current value, P&L);
  • watchlists, alerts, and dividend or transaction history; and
  • market data and analysis you requested.

The AI assistant provider receives this data to process your request, and its own privacy policy governs how it handles that data once received. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's privacy policy (or that of whichever assistant you connect). We minimize what we return so that requests that do not need your identity (name, email, phone) do not receive it. You can disconnect Money Mitra from any AI assistant at any time through that assistant's connector settings, which stops further data sharing.


4. Who We Share Data With

We share personal data only with:

  • AI assistant providers you choose to connect (for example, OpenAI), strictly to fulfill your requests, as described in Section 3;
  • Our hosting and infrastructure provider, used to store and serve the data that runs Money Mitra. Our data is hosted in Nepal;
  • Our payment provider, for subscription billing only ;
  • Analytics / crash-reporting providers, used to keep the apps stable and improve them — [e.g., Google Firebase / Crashlytics] and
  • Authorities or legal advisers, where we are required to disclose by law or to protect our rights.

We do not otherwise disclose your personal data to third parties.


5. How Long We Keep Data

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we permanently and irreversibly delete your associated personal data.


6. Your Rights and Controls

You can:

  • access and correct your account and profile data from within the app;
  • export your portfolio data on request;
  • delete your account and data — permanently — from the app, or by emailing [email protected] [CONFIRM EMAIL];
  • disconnect any AI assistant to stop data sharing through the connector;
  • opt out of promotional email using the unsubscribe link in any such message; and
  • manage cookies and device permissions through your browser or device settings.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of credentials and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of material incidents where required.


8. Children

Money Mitra is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.


9. Data Location

Money Mitra's data is stored and processed in Nepal. If you access the service from outside Nepal, you understand your data will be handled in Nepal under this Policy and applicable Nepali law.


10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date and, where changes are material, take additional steps to notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
